Panasonic announced the S1 and S1R cameras. The S1 features a 24.2MP sensor and the S1R doubles that with 47.3MP. If that’s not enough for you, both bodies also feature a high-resolution shooting mode that produces 96MP images in the S1 and 187MP images in the S1R. Both cameras feature contrast detection autofocus systems with 225 AF points as well as internal image stabilization.
Video shooters will appreciate the 4K 60P capabilities of both cameras. The S1 can capture 4K 60P 8-bit video internally. Its big brother, the S1R can capture 4K 60P externally, with V-Log.
The S1 is priced at $2500 and available for preorder with an expected release date of April 4, 2019. The S1R is priced at $3700 and also available for preorder with the same release date. Both bodies are available with bundled lenses. Jump to News Shooter’s article for more info. There is also an extensive article on L-rumors.
