Panasonic S1 & S1R Announced

Panasonic announced the S1 and S1R cameras. The S1 features a 24.2MP sensor and the S1R doubles that with 47.3MP. If that’s not enough for you, both bodies also feature a high-resolution shooting mode that produces 96MP images in the S1 and 187MP images in the S1R. Both cameras feature contrast detection autofocus systems with 225 AF points as well as internal image stabilization.

Video shooters will appreciate the 4K 60P capabilities of both cameras. The S1 can capture 4K 60P 8-bit video internally. Its big brother, the S1R can capture 4K 60P externally, with V-Log.

The S1 is priced at $2500 and available for preorder with an expected release date of April 4, 2019. The S1R is priced at $3700 and also available for preorder with the same release date. Canon

According to Canon Rumors, Canon filed patents for multiple non-L zoom lenses in RF mount. The lenses include 70-300, 100-400, and 50-250mm focal lengths with max apertures from f/4-5.6. Read Canon Rumors article here.

Additionally, Canon Rumors reports filings for a 24-80mm f/4 L IS lens and a 24-105mm f/4L IS lens. Both lenses are for the new RF mount. Read the article here.

On the Cinema EOS front, the Cinema EOS C300 Mark II replacement is rumored to have 8K capability . Further, Canon will release PL mount versions of their CN-E Primes later this year.

Leica

Techart released a new adapter ring that enables autofocus on Nikon Z cameras with Leica M lenses. The adapter ring enables a Sony Alpha adapter to mount on Nikon cameras. Effectively, you have two adapters between your lens and the Nikon Z body. Read Leica Rumors’ article here.

Nikon COOLPIX P1000 with DF-M1 Dot Sight

The Nikon DF-M1 Dot Sight for the COOLPIX P1000 camera is now available for purchase. The sight enables more accurate acquisition of distant subject, particularly with the P1000’s 3000mm lens.

Panasonic

Nikon announces Coolpix B600 and A1000

Nikon announced the COOLPIX B600 compact digital camera. It features a 60x optical zoom that covers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24-1440mm. With additional Dynamic Fine Zoom it can achieve a zoom ratio of 120x. Additionally, the 16MP camera also features 19 scene modes and a creative mode for up to 36 effects. Nikon also announced the COOLPIX A1000. This compact camera offers a built in electronic viewfinder and 35x optical zoom. It is 4K UHD capable with vibration reduction and Active D-Lighting. Further, it is SnapBridge compatible for easy transfer to mobile devices. Read the announcement here.
