Shoten announced the RF version of the SPEEDMASTER 50mm F0.95 III. The lens is currently available in Nikon Z and Sony E-mount versions. The RF version will be available in April. Follow the link to Shoten’s product page (in Japanese).
After a week with a few significant announcements, the rumor front remains fairly quiet.
Canon’s announcement of the EOS RP mirrorless camera and the future release of six new RF lenses dominated this week’s Canon coverage. However, additional info surfaced about future plans to release R series cameras with in-body image stabilization. The system will work in tandem with the IS functions of Canon’s lenses to provide All Optical Image Stabilization.
Canon also published the PDF version of the EOS RP’s Manual. And, in Japan, you’ll be able to buy the camera in a gold finish.
Imaging Resource also published an interview with Canon execs about the RP camera. A very interesting tidbit is the brief discussion of the upcoming 85mm f1.2 DS lens. Canon will apparently use coatings rather than an internal filter to smooth bokeh. The interview is extensive. Read it here.
Leica’s big news this week was the ASC 100 camera announcement. However, Leica Rumors published the “possible specifications” of the Lumix FZ1000 Mark II camera.
43Rumors.com also published additional info on the FZ1000 Mark II and TZ95 cameras.
