Shoten announced the RF version of the SPEEDMASTER 50mm F0.95 III. The lens is currently available in Nikon Z and Sony E-mount versions. The RF version will be available in April. Follow the link to Shoten’s product page (in Japanese).
Multiple sites report a new Canon R series body for mid-2019. Canon Rumors’ article claims that the body has not begun production and will feature dual card slots, thought not for the same memory format, and that the camera will feature a traditional joystick controller instead of the touch bar.
In Canon video news, the site reports that the XA40 and XA45 camcorders should appear at NAB 2019 this coming April.
Leica Rumors updated their list of expected Leica cameras and lenses. As of this writing the Safari Edition of the M10-P was announced, the remainder of the extensive list includes a Summilux-M 90mm lens with expected f/1.5 max aperture. Additionally, speculation includes a new Noctilux-M 35mm lens which would join the Noctilux-M 50mm f/0.95 and 75mm f/1.2 lenses in the Noctilux lineup. Additionally, a silver version of the Summilux-M 28mm f1/4 lens is apparently on the way.
The article goes on to say that Leica will continue to develop vintage lenses including a 135mm M mount lens.
