Fujifilm announced today that due to increasing costs, the company will raise the price of film at least 30 percent. Additionally, all photographic papers will also see at least a percentage increase in the double digits. The price increases will take effect April 1, 2019.
Film Shooters may want to stock up. A roll of Fuji Provia, currently priced at about $12, will cost nearly $16 after the April increase. With added development cost, averaging nearly $10 a roll at a lab, the price of shooting and developing that 36 exposures will come close to seventy-five cents per frame.
