According to Videomaker.com the announcement of the RED Ranger camera occurred on the reduser.net forum and the camera will not be for sale. Instead, the camera will only be available for rent due to its high cost. The Ranger’s sensor should have over 16 stops of dynamic range and shoot 8K in 60fps. Read the Videomaker article here.
News Shooter published an article today detailing the advantages and functions for Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras that Nikon announced yesterday. The article describes the PRORES Raw functionality and dives into the features of the Nikon Z6 Filmmaker’s Kit. Additionally, Nikon’s announcement outlined upcoming eye focus for Z6 and Z7 cameras. Additionally, Nikon will add CFExpress functionality to both cameras. Whether or not Nikon will add CFExpress functionality to D810 and D5 cameras is unclear.
Nikon announced the Z6 Filmmaker Kit today. The kit includes a Z6 body, Nikkor 24-70mm F4 S lens, FTZ adapter, Atoms Ninja V, a MOZA Air 2 gimbal and other accessories.
Nikon also announced the “World’s first full-frame 14mm filter-attachable lens” with their Nikkor Z 14-30mm f/4 S Ultra-Wide-Angle Zoom. The lens is designed for both video and stills shooters. See the full press release for both sets of products here.
