Samyang announced the extra-wide angle manual focus 10mm f2.8 ED AS NCS CS lens for APS-C cameras. The lens features 14 elements in 10 groups. Two of the elements are aspherical and one is low-dispersion glass. The combination will provide a 109.5 degree angle of view. The lens is available for Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds, Samsung NX, and Fujifilm X mounts. Price varies between $280 US And $399 US depending on the mount.
Fujifilm announced today that due to increasing costs, the company will raise the price of film at least 30 percent. Additionally, all photographic papers will also see at least a percentage increase in the double digits. The price increases will take effect April 1, 2019.
Film Shooters may want to stock up. A roll of Fuji Provia, currently priced at about $12, will cost nearly $16 after the April increase. With added development cost, averaging nearly $10 a roll at a lab, the price of shooting and developing that 36 exposures will come close to seventy-five cents per frame. Fujifilm announced the X-T30 a mirrorless, 26.1MP APS-C camera that will reach the market in late March. The camera is an evolution of the capable X-T20. Fujifilm announced the release of its first telephoto zoom lens for the GFX system. The brand boasts “astonishing image resolution with 100MP+ sensors” as well as a host of other features. The lens is compatible with the GF 1.4X TC WR teleconverter. Read the full announcement here.
Fujifilm released v2.0 of the XT-3’s firmware. The update provides upgrades to 4K video recording and simultaneous output of Film Simulation and F-Log footage. Additionally, a power supply icon and other “slight defects” benefit from the update. More info and download here.
